Porque en otras ocasiones la familia puede ser la causa de frustraciones, de miedos, de venganzas, de rencores ocultos e, incluso, de muerte y destrucción.

Esta es la historia de tres familias que comparten vicios privados y virtudes públicas. Familias normales, como las que viven en la casa de al lado. Familias dispuestas a todo con tal de mantener las apariencias y esconder, bajo la alfombra, sus peores secretos y miserias. Pero no hay silencio que dure oculto mucho tiempo. Renato Fabres is a prosperous businessman who has learned to move with great intelligence and success in the business world. His name is synonymous to power, wealth and success. Together with Eva, his severe wife, he has created a family to be proud of: they have three children – Ignacia, Carola and Benjamín.

Javier Ruiz-Tagle and Pilar Echeñique, meanwhile, are their perfectionist neighbors. They like to do things properly. Being well-off, educated, and honored, they are seemingly a happy marriage with two wonderful children, Andrea and Diego. A perfect family worthy of being envied.
